May 21 (2009):

Sorry we've not spoken in a bit. We've been busy writing new songs, playing tons of shows and pulling termite ridden wood off our house. We'll be heading out on a West USA tour next week! Keep in touch and check out our shows at Myspace. We will be joining old friends The Action Design on many of the dates.

December 3 (2008):

"The New Trust are one of those 'hard-to-explain' bands. I’m not sure how a band can be described as tuneful and difficult at the same time but The New Trust seem to pull it off. Paired down to a three piece, the band continues to intrigue..." - Sound as Language

"Clocking in just shy of half an hour, these eight tracks pummel. In subject matter and tone, both beauty and the hideousness of human flaw are brought into focus with burning clarity on 'Get Vulnerable'. Whether it's the failures of punk, deceit by friends and lovers, raging guilt, or self-loathing, nothing is too taboo or left undisclosed. When all is done, the creators and the listeners are left open and raw, and while that may seem rather intimidating and uncomfortable, perhaps it's just what we all need." -Brian Moss, East Bay Express

"This is a band that personifies true synergy, with no one member standing out but instead all three working together to create something greater than the sum of their beings. Josh Staples’ angelic alto showcases a repertoire of yelps, whispers and hushed spoken word, while Sara Sanger’s wandering guitar riffs punctuate and drive – rather than define – the songs. And drummer Julia Lancer beats out as the unfailing heart at the center of the band. One thing is apparent with this album: The New Trust has not abandoned its sound. It has evolved." - Wonka Vision Magazine, Natalye Childress Smith

October 24:

Find our record at Vinyl Collective. Make sure you buy the new Olehole record too.

October 3:

Rain or shine, that swim party is happening! The pool's heated to 81, and there's a slide!

Our new record has joined our other releases at the iTunes Store! The New Trust

Also, a quick apology for some of you who've not gotten your presale shipments yet. Our vinyl was done so close to our release date, that some of the farther away (Niles in Florida for example) have their records still in route. I owe you a hug. So sorry.

Sara just posted a blog about the self-portrait water experience.

September 30:

Brian Moss as Hanalei has recorded "You've Got to be Fucking Shitting Me," listen here. You can see him play it live at our record release party on Oct 4th.

Right now, our record is available online direct from us. You can also purchase a digital copy at our Snocap store. We're in the process of adding Get Vulnerable to iTunes, and we'll let you know when that is up.

Josh Staples is a Liar and a Thief, September 28.
No, seriously. Read about it here.

The Bunker couldn't make it to our record release show, so here's his recording of Holy Wars. Pretty fucking good, and now we're really excited for the crazy party we're planning.

September 5 2008

So much news today. We're finally done with our next record, "Get Vulnerable," and it will be out September 30th. You can pre order it right here on our site. It was engineered by Matthew Izen and mixed by Matt Bayles. It will be available on a limited edition white 12" format (with a CD inside for easy car listening), and also on CD. Check out our merch page for more info.

This record will be a self release, and we've been diligently assembling it all week. In an environmental turn, we've disassembled some old releases from back in the 90's when we owned a label, and reused cases (nice ones, promise). Josh has vetoed the shrink wrap by yelling, "too much fucking plastic!" at Sara.

We will be having a very confusing record release swim party followed by a night at the pub on October 4th, where you can play TNT songs for us. Seriously. Email us to check if your favorite song hasn't been claimed.

We've just added a show, October 26th, in Sacramento with Against Me!

Lyrics for our new record have been posted, so if you're wondering what this water theme is all about, check out "Breathe Underwater."
